Are visitors to Las Vegas younger than in years past?

The average age of Las Vegas visitors in 2022 was 40.7 years, down from 43.2 years in 2021 and 47.2 in 1992. The nearly 39 million visitors were also more ethnically diverse, with higher rates of Asian and Latino visitors.

Las Vegas has been the top trade show destination in North America for 26 consecutive years. Among business travelers, 58% extended their stay to enjoy leisure time in Las Vegas by an average of 1.7 days.

Among the 10 largest casinos in the world (as of 2020), only one was located in Las Vegas. Five were in Macau, China, and the world’s largest was in Oklahoma. In 2019, gambling revenue in Macau was six times that of Las Vegas. In 2022, Las Vegas edged ahead of Macau because the Chinese government’s “Zero Covid” policy shuttered the city’s casinos.
